It's the day after Christmas and all through the house, one creature was stirring and even found a mouse!
Merry day after Christmas! Yesterday we had a nice, quiet family Christmas. We exchanged gifts and had a nice meal. Following the one item in one item out rule, I'll need to find a few more items to dispose of.
That mouse I mentioned above? It's not a real mouse. It's an electronic mouse that I found in our basement. It won't be living in our house much longer!
To bring you up to date: I've found over 60 items that will be leaving the premises soon. In less than a week you'll be able to see some of the things that have been hiding in my closets, drawers, bookcases and in boxes in the basement.
Here's a sneak preview of one item:
Nice right? Yes it is if you live at or near the beach!
Enjoy the waning days of 2010. I'll see you on the first with item one of one hundred!

The big search
I'm working my way through the stuff in my office/the extra bedroom. I've already found at least 20 items I can easily live without. Maybe I didn't set the bar high enough?

I'm not alone
In today's edition of our local newspaper, there's an article about people downsizing. Apparently there are people who are attempting to downsize to the point of only owning 100 items. I'm fairly certain I won't get to that point but I know I can live with less than I currently own. I've begun thinking about the items I'll set free. I feel better already!

One hundred items in one hundred days!
Stuff is weighing me down. Closets full of stuff. Drawers full of stuff. Book cases full of stuff that isn't books. I have too much stuff!
Beginning on January 1, 2011 I will dispose of one item a day for one hundred days. I'll post a picture of each item and provide a brief description and history of each. I haven't decided what I'll do with these items yet. I suppose some of them will be donated to Goodwill or some such organization. Others may be saved for a garage sale. Others may be thrown out.
Maybe you want one of them? If so, send me an email (kathyo1@ptd.net) and let me know what interests you. Maybe we can work out a deal to get the item from my house to yours. Maybe the only cost to you will be the cost of shipping!
Come back often. Heck come back daily for one hundred days because that treasure you've been searching for may be available!
